Margie is a respected litigator and trial lawyer with an affinity for coverage. She is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington and has tried cases in both states. Margie has successfully argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. She has also authored chapters in multiple Oregon State Bar Books on Insurance Law in Oregon (2020), Oregon Civil Pleading and Litigation (2020), and Oregon Civil Pleading and Practice (2012).

Margie is a native Floridian, but she has called Oregon home since 1998. After graduating from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, she spent several years working in Japan before attending law school at the University of Oregon School of Law, where she graduated in 2002. After graduation, Margie clerked for the Honorable Cynthia D. Carlson in Eugene before moving to Portland.

Margie is President of the Gus. J. Solomon Inn of Court, an active member of the Royal Rosarians, the official greeters and ambassadors of goodwill for the City of Portland, and a member of the Oregon Women Lawyers’ competitive dragon boat team. Margie enjoys dragon boat racing and playing the bass drum in local parades in the summer and skiing on Mt. Hood with her husband and adult son and daughter in the winter.
